Space+Art
Week 9:
Space has always been a very popular topic. In the United States, the topic of space and space travel has come a long way. It is a topic that is taught in school as you grow up. No matter if you are in elementary school, middle school, or high school, there will be a class or section in a class that covers space.
The United States went from being in an arms race with the Soviet Union to get into space first, to private companies wanting to build spacecrafts and go into space. A very popular example of this is Elon Musk. He was so interested in space and space travel that he created a company, SpaceX, to try and get himself along with other people that are not trained astronauts a chance to go into space.
Astronauts are chosen from the best of the best and with private companies being able to build space ships and send people to space, the amount of training that a person needs to go through before going into space goes down drastically. While there are companies like SpaceX that are being used by NASA to help with space exploration and transporting astronauts, there are other companies like Virgin that will send anyone with enough money up. While I do believe that space and space travel is a really interesting topic, I think that people should be adequately trained before they can get onto a spacecraft and leave the earth.
