Week 8: Nanotech + Art

  Week 8:

Nanotechnology is a section of science that is growing and advancing very fast. Because of nanotechnology, humans can see things on an almost atomic level. This technology has been the reason for many breakthroughs in the science and medical world. It has also brought about a new form of art that has also become more popular with time.

At one point in time, if scientists or medical professionals needed to use a microscope, the more they zoomed in the more blurry it got. Today, scientists and medical professionals can zoom in on things on an almost atomic level, and it will still be clear, thanks to nanotechnology. This technology has also helped in identifying different parts of the body, and nature, that humans have never gotten a clear view of before.

On the artistic side, nanotechnology gave artists a new form of art to discover, understand, and explore. Because of nanotechnology, there have been exhibits like Nano-Scape by Christa Sommerer. This exhibit let people touch nanoparticles that were invisible to the human eye. Some nano art is interactive because of the fact that it is something that the human eye cannot see and some humans like to explore things that they cannot see or hear. Nanotechnology has not only answered some of the questions that humans have, but it also has made humans more curious thus leading to more questions and advances in nanotechnology.
